Merciful, Compassionate and Faithful

The emperor penguin is the first thing, besides Jesus, that comes to my mind when I think of these three attributes. It is hard to find all three in any one person that we know in this world, but there are some diamonds out there. My husband is one of them.

We are all looking for that in a friend.

We look for that in our family members.

We look for that in our organizations and leaders and judges.

If you were to get pulled over for going through a red light or speeding you would want that in the Police Officer who pulled you over. Mercy…..compassion.

When vacationing in another county, hostile to the West, and unaware of the laws but got arrested for an unknown reason…..we would want mercy and compassion.

If we live in shame because of some misdeed or bad decision and those we wanted to keep this deep dark secret from, found out….we would want compassion and faithfulness to stick by us even though we sinned and humiliated the family.

If we choose a mate and have been with them long enough to secure the relationship with a long term commitment….we would want them to be faithful.

Mistakes are made in business. I once made a very bad error doing payroll, forgetting to take out some prepaid taxes for an employee, and mercy and compassion was all I could hope for.

I think often of the nation of Israel…the Jewish people. How many times God had mercy, compassion and was faithful to them. The flight out of Egypt, the Holocaust and all the enemies surrounding that tiny nation today, yet, they have God’s protection.

There is no limit to God’s compassion. He does not wear out, tire of loving us or get bored and move on to another lover. He will see us to the end, as he was there when each of us were born. Whether you reject Him or not, he will always love you.

When has God ever not kept a promise. You can’t name one time. Not one time in heaven, when creating the world, since the beginning of time throughout eternity he has always been, will always be, and is faithful.

You will find no one who loves and cares for what you are going through more than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As promised….he came for you….he died for you….he lives for you. If you have no hope, you will find hope in reading his love letter to you….the Bible.

“The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind: the Lord’s mercy. We were not completely wiped out. His compassion is never limited. It is new every morning. His faithfulness is great.” (Lamentations 3:21-23)

I am a grandmother who is still sewing to create and sell things in my store. If I am not working on my website I am holding a grandchild or working in my flower gardens. I am enjoying the warmer months more and more in Minnesota where I live because retirement has allowed me to take more time outdoors. But I do love a rainy day the best!
